Demolished old wood deck, built expanded wood deck with screened porch room, two new doors into house, two roofs over doors. We found Robby Watts and TREC through Lowe's. We had estimates from five other contractors for our project to demolish the old deck and build an expanded new deck, screened porch and two new mini-roofs. Robby clearly had extensive experience building decks and screened porches. He estimate was in line with the scope of work. TREC's work exceeded our expectations. The crew members were prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and hard-working. They cleaned up each day, answered our questions, solved problems we didn't anticipate and built a terrific space. They handled the permitting, inspections, material orders, etc. Robby created the design from our verbal description. The coordination with Lowe's went well. The Lowe's exterior project estimator, Lynn Reynolds, also did a terrific job, as did Mike in the door department at the Lowe's on Winchester Road (Hamburg). We are very pleased and feel confident recommending TREC and Lowe's.
TREC Construction built a wooden deck to replace our old, original deck, enlarging it and improving it in numerous ways. We met with Robby for about an hour in our home as he took measurements and talked about what we wanted in terms of deck construction. He sent us a plan with several possible prices for different dimensions, materials, step placement and so on. We asked many questions and Robby was very patient, answering all our questions thoroughly and truthfully. Our deck is amazing. It's probably the most solid, well-constructed structure in our entire house. It is larger and the new steps provide a wonderful vista to the park behind our house. The crew was extremely courteous, professional and extremely conscientious about telling us when they would be out and cleaning up after themselves each day. Couldn't be happier with TREC Construction!
Built a very large deck across the back of our home. The TREC construction team was amazing! From the minute of their on-time arrival, they went to work. They were very organized and each person made a 110% effort toward the goal of completing the deck in the most efficient and professional way possible. Before leaving every day, they had all trash, debris and lumber scraps picked up and bagged. During this time, the weather was unbearably hot and humid and we heard no complaints from anyone. This is just one terrific, personable, and knowledgeable team of professionals. We will definitely recommend them to others and plan on having them return to our home to help us with several other projects. They are amazing!
Construct a porch, approximately 5 feet off the ground. The porch was covered, with the porch roof being built into the roof of the house. The porch was also screened in, with railings on the inside of the screen. A walkway was also built from the porch around the house to the drive way. It was approximately 4 feet off the ground (house is on a slope). Porch is 12'x20', with a 4'x32' walkway. It went well. The rough framing crew arrived early each day, around 7 am, and worked until 7 pm. Holes for the supports were carefully dug, and adapted the plan for the crawlspace opening. The crew was polite, and had already inquired as to my preferences for their work hours and their radio playing. After the floor was down, and roof installed, a slightly different crew, still polite and looking for input, arrived, and finished the walkway, railing, and steps. With the bulk of the porch all but finished, (a sub-contractor installed the screen), the crew cleaned up any mess, and departed. Total work took about two weeks. Porch looks good, passed inspection, and is enjoyable.
Robby Watts, owner of TREC Construction LLC, designed and built a partially covered deck for my home. I initially contacted Robby in late summer of 2014 concerning a deck project at my residence. Our initial meeting was a discussion of what I wanted from the outdoor living space with thoughts from Robby. I immediately could tell Robby was the contractor for this project with his vast knowledge of construction and practical ideas. I wanted to have the deck completed late spring to early summer so throughout the fall and winter we communicated changes in design and budget considerations. Robby was always consistent in communication and patient in making changes. Many revisions later, a final plan was set and construction began late spring. The TREC team introduced themselves initially and began work. They were always on time and pleasant to speak with and happy to answer questions. The workers always had positive attitudes. As the deck progressed I wanted to make some minor design changes, no problem, Robby and I discussed, and changes were made. The finished product was better than expected and on budget. After completion, I realized I made a wiring mistake, I spoke with Robby about it and the next day two employees were out and fixed it. I highly recommend Robby and the TREC team for any home project. I am already starting to think about my next project and will definitely be using TREC Construction.
Finished walkout basement, including multipurpose area, kitchenette, full bath, laundry/utility room, office/bedroom; built 15x60 lower deck with bordering retaining wall, designed and built tiered steps along sides of house. From start to finish, TREC Construction was great to work with. Robby was extremely knowledgeable, attentive to detail, and very accommodating. He was easy to reach and worked closely with us, answering questions and offering options and solutions throughout the project. All construction and finish work progressed on schedule. The basement and deck turned out great! We'll definitely use his company again for any future remodeling/construction.
